Cesar 'Cesinha' Almeida hails from the mean streets of Sao Paulo. Prior to aspiring to fight professionally, young Almeida dreamed of becoming a civil engineer. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, using his fists became a necessity, eventually nudging him into the ring. Cesar recalls, 'I was born and raised in Parque Edu Chaves, one of the more dangerous areas of the city. It's a place where you have to learn how to defend yourself very early.' His destiny would be realized when he began watching broadcasts of Japanese kickboxing events, where fellow Brazilians such as Francisco Filho and Glaube Feitosa competed on the world stage. Amassing an impressive kickboxing record of 55 fights with 47 wins and 27 knockouts, his victories included bouts with UFC Champion Alex Pereira and Ivan Galaz. Known for his knockout power, Almeida was climbing his way to the top of the Glory promotion when he was approached to fight in the UFC Contender Series. There, he secured a win over Lucas Fernando, earning his four-fight UFC contract. Now training out of Las Vegas at the UFC Performance Institute under the guidance of experienced MMA Coach Matheus Naccache, Cesar Almeida's future seems destined for stardom with his crowd-pleasing stand-up style and knockout power.
